Eurasians
As most Singapore Eurasians are Catholics, the wedding ceremony is normally held in a church followed by a reception for family, relatives and friends. The Tuxedo is worn by the bridegroom. The tuxedo is a man's dress suit of clothes in the semi-formal, black tie dress convention. The tuxedo is what is worn when black tie attire is specified. Recent years ago, the American tuxedo has distanced itself from the English dinner jacket and black tie conventions. Western wedding dresses are normally white color. On their heads are wedding veils. Flower Girl. A flower girl is a participant in a wedding procession. Like ring bearers and page boys, flower girls are usually members of the bride's or groom's extended family, but it may also be friends. There may be more than one flower girl, particularly if the bride has several young relatives to honor. This practice is more common at British Royal Family weddings, at elaborate weddings modeled after royal weddings, or at Victorian-themed weddings. Her male equivalent is the ring bearer or page boy. Often the ring bearer and the flower girl are dressed to look like a couple, and they may be dressed in miniature versions of the bride's and bridegroom's clothes. Because at a very young age children are overwhelmed by the duties, and older girls may feel insulted by a "baby" role, the recommended age is between four and eight years of age, or even older, if not offensive to the girl's feelings. Historically, the clothing was provided by the families of the bride and groom, but most modern couples expect the parents of the flower girl to pay for her clothing and other expenses related to her participation. pictures credits to: www.google.com Brides Maid. - A girl or young unmarried woman who attends a bride at her wedding pictures credits to: www.google.com

Chinese Wedding.
CHINESE WEDDING CEREMONY. The bride’s family has the right to request for certain items which the groom’s family has to allow them to marry the daughter from her family. The wedding dowry or ping kam is often requested by the bride’s parents as part of the proposal or negotiation session between the two families. credits to: www.google.com credits to: www.google.com The process began with an elaborate marriage proposal and acceptance. This process was placed in the hands of a go-between, who acted as a buffer between the two parties – a role similar to that of a real estate agent today. The important parties in proposal and betrothal negotiations were the parents of the prospective bride and groom, rather than the bride and groom themselves. When the boy’s parents identified a likely bride-to-be, they would send the go-between to present gifts to the girl's parents and to sound out their feelings about the match. If the proposal was well-received, the go-between would obtain the date and hour of the girl’s birth recorded on a formal document. The matchmaker must carry the proposal to the girl's family and ask for the young lady's 'eight characters' which is the year, month, day of the month and hour of the boy's birth and of the girl's birth and later conduct the negotiations concerning the gifts. If the girl's family hands out the 'eight characters', this is a sign of preliminary consent. Wedding Night Ritual The night of the wedding, the bridal room will lit dragon and phoenix candle to drive away the evil spirit while the newlyweds will drink wine from two cups tied together with a red string, arms crossed from each other. This is the formal wedding vow in Chinese culture. Then the bride will be offered dumplings that's boiled half-raw. The pronunciation of "raw" is the same as giving birth to children, an indication of family prosperity. The Bride Returning Home after 3 days:Three days after the wedding, the bride is expected to return to her family back. The bride will bring along a whole roasted pig and gifts for their family. And the bride’s family will also return part of the gifts to the groom’s family as a courtesy. They will usually returns the head and tail of the roasted pig to the groom’s family that symbolizes there is a good beginning and ending of the wedding. Nowadays, this custom is being simplified that the bride will return home on the same day.
